Non-OA Journals

This table (updated March 2024) provides information about the green and hybrid open access policies for traditionally published, subscription-based forced migration-related journals. The hyperlinks lead to 1) the journal homepage; 2) the publisher's self-archiving policy; and 3) more details about a publisher's hybrid OA option.  As the table indicates, most publishers allow a postprint version of an article to be deposited online (check the fine print for where), although usually after an embargo period has passed. This can range anywhere from 6 months to two years.  However, six of the journals have no embargo periods at all for depositing postprints in repositories, while another seven permit a postprint to be made available immediately on an author's personal web page. The table also shows that most publishers offer a hybrid option for their journals, with APCs ranging from US$2595 to US$4000 (although note that OUP is now quoting APCs for its four titles in either GBP or EUR).

*Follow links for fine print. Policies often stipulate where postprints can or cannot be deposited and embargo periods may be different if articles result from funder-mandated research.
